Formal Lab Report Guidelines (Acid/Base Titration)
Typed -Arial 10pt (with hand-written calculations sheets attached); written in 3rd person style (passive voice), double spaced. A. NaOH and HA (Acid)
You should type and describe the reaction and show the correct products. Talk about neutralization reaction, titration method, indicator, end point, equivalence point.
Procedure (1-2 paragraphs)
A. For the titrations, mention what you did in detail. (Also mention if you varied from the lab text).
A. Prepare a typed version of data table 11-1 (see handout).
A. Summarized observations for each trial. Describe the color of the end points. Briefly discuss the following:
• Were the volumes of NaOH used to titrate Acid consistent for each trial? How did you identify and correct any errors or over titrations.
B. Bar or column graphs (excel) – (stacked type is best if you know how to make them)
• Relative volume of NaOH used per volume of Acid
C. Include any endpoint pictures.
A. Detailed calculation for each trial and percent error (Acid concentration) problem worked out. If you can’t type, show your calculation under appendix, clearly labeled with calculation for each trial.
A. State the average concentration of Acid obtained from the experiment and compare with percent error. Talk about learning outcomes of the lab, different techniques learned, how the concept helped you to get the desired results. Report how you would correct any mistake that you made. ( I will attach the lab results, you will use the data fr from there). Use the calculation from the lab I attached
