APA Format Mental Health Disorder Research Paper Guidelines
The psychology department requires that each student in Psychology 1 complete a paper. You may NOT use a paper you turned in for any other class. You may choose any disorder covered in the textbook to write. It will be at least seven pages complete, APA Format, typed, double-spaced pages with 1.0” margins (left indented only, not block formatted) in Times New Roman font, 12-point size. Do not skip spaces between paragraphs (Microsoft Word now automatically puts 1.5 spaces between paragraphs, so you will need to change this). The paper can be longer than six pages of research information. Please do not include an abstract.
Your paper will be on a mental health disorder of your choosing from chapter 15. Only choose one disorder, not a category of disorders! The first page will be your title page. You will write the second page (only) as an autobiographical or biographical statement of why you are specifically interested in your topic. For example, let’s say Major Depressive Disorder interests you, you can write about why that disorder interests you as one page. The next four pages must be a synopsis of the scholarly research journals you read. For example, you can find scholarly research journals on the causes or treatments of the disorder and summarize the research. You cannot use interviews or stories of people as evidence of empirical studies. Please do not list each journal and explain it. You must include a 7th page that will be a list of all of your references (a bibliography).
The research paper must be written in essay format, without bullet points, lists, or subsection titles. You will not write an abstract. You need a minimum of 3 references for this paper, which may only include journal articles and approved websites. Do not use any book as a reference. Your references should be no older than 2005.
You are not allowed to use websites for the paper until I approve the site beforehand. A few exceptions to this include psychologicalscience.org, apa.org, NIMH.gov, NIDA.gov, and any site I directed you to in the classroom. You can’t use any “.com” because there is no one to govern the truth of many of these sites which means you can’t even use wikipedia.com or any other “wiki” site!
When you are using someone else’s work to write your paper, you must give them credit. You must cite your references in every paragraph of your paper; this should be done in APA format (see www.apastyle.org and the way your textbook is written). APA format means you include the author’s last name and the year of publication ONLY of the article inside parentheses when you are referencing work they presented. The following is an example of a sentence from a paper on depression: Many times depression is linked to anxiety (Myers, 2007).
The important thing to remember here is NOT TO PLAGIARIZE the information. CITE your references in EVERY paragraph, and USE YOUR OWN WORDS! Please do not copy word for word from your references unless you put it in quotation marks. You may not use quotes longer than one sentence, and you may not have more than five quotes in the paper.
You must summarize what you have read using plain English. Do not write scientific jargon (such as lists of prescription drugs or the ingredients of drugs) that is not understandable without a medical degree. If you do not use all of your own words and do not accurately cite your sources, this is plagiarizing and grounds for cheating. I will either give your paper back to you to redo or give you a zero. I DON’T ACCEPT LATE PAPERS

Frequently asked questions
How soon can I get my paper done?
It depends with your deadline. If you need your paper completed in 3 hours, we will deliver it in that time. All you need to do is indicate your deadline in our custom order page here. Alternatively, if you are sending us your instructions via email, please be sure to indicate your deadline.
Will it be completely original? I don't want to be caught in a case of Academic Integrity Violation.
We are as paranoid as you are. Maybe even more! And we understand that the greatest sin you can commit in your academic journey is plagiarizing your academic work. To that end, we have made sure that we check and double-check our papers using high quality plagiarism detection tools such as SafeAssign and Turnitin before submitting the paper to you.
Who is my writer? Is he/she a native English Speaker?
All our writers are native English Speakers. That is not to say that ESL writers are not good, we just prefer hiring native writers because we want the very best people working on your paper. This might mean paying a little bit more for your paper as opposed to when you pay a foreign company whose writers are non-native English Speakers.
What if I need revisions? Will your charge additional for this?
Of course not! If you do happen to require a revision on your paper, our team will handle it for you free of charge. Matter of fact, we won’t rest till you are happy with your paper. So, ask for as many revisions as you need, it’s completely FREE!
Will you give me my money back if I don't like my paper?
We have very few instances where we delivered a paper that a client didn’t fall in love with. But if it so happens that you don’t like your paper for any reason whatsoever, we’ll refund your money back no questions asked.
I have more assignments after this, can you help me with those too?
Of course! And what’s even better is that we can reserve a writer permanently to work on your entire class. This comes in handy for projects which build up on each other and where you need just one writer, one writing style.
