1. Problem Statement: The problem to be addressed in this study is the lack of minorities in leadership roles at institutions of higher education (IHEs), in particular, Black women, are underrepresented in leadership roles in institutions of higher education (IHEs).

3. Research Questions: Research Question 1: What is the experience of black women in the shared leadership model in Institutions of Higher Education (IHE)? Sub Research Question 1: How do black women in leadership roles in IHEs describe their experience with mentoring and the effect is has on their progression in leadership?
4. Methodology and Design: Social Constructivist Paradigmatic perspective using qualitative phenomenological design
