This will be for the college admissions common app prompt titled “Discuss an accomplishment, event, or realization that sparked a period of personal growth and a new understanding of yourself or others.” And what I would like to write about is how I changed from being a shy and quiet kid to be a leader. I am currently a leader for a youth group at my church also a team captain for the soccer team of my school. Just background story, I am an international student from Africa applying to US colleges. And growing up I never really had any confidence and even though I got along with everyone at my school I was still known as the shy and quiet kid. But over the years, especially after starting high school I have matured and changed so much I would like the essay to be about my personal growth. Now looking back in the last couple of years, I never thought I would be able to lead a whole group of students my age at church where I teach them about the bible every Sunday, plan events and go help. I remember the time my pastor asked me to become a leader for the group and I was very hesitant because of my fear an self doubt of not being good enough. But I knew that he saw something in me that would make me a perfect fit. But I am very glad I did and now I have a whole different perspective of just life in general and I truly believe in the quote ït always seems impossible until its done” and also “you can achieve anything you put your mind to.” Now, not only at church but also being a captain for the soccer team truly helped me understand how a lot of people like me are so hard on ourselves because we already have convinced ourselves that we aren’t good enough to do certain things before even giving it a chance. Throught the years, I have matured a lot and I wasn’t afraid to take risks even if it meant getting out of my comfort zone. Because honestly, taking the two position I mentioned above have helped me realize we don’t know what we are capable of unless we give it a chance. Just like how they say “rome wasn’t build in one day”. I truly believe if we step out of our comfort zone and just only take one step we can improve a lot to become the best version of ourselves. Being the oldest brother for two of my sisters I have always felt responsible at a young age because I would love to be a good role model for two of my sisters. And as a leader both at my church and at school, I believe I use those same qualities where I lead others by example. So overall, self awareness, growth and willingness to take challenges in a positive manner has been a big part of my life in the last couple of years. I am not perfect but I plan on improving my skills of being a leader and even better in college. So I would really like the essay to be how I overcome self doubt and just personal growth and maturity throughout the years. And since it’s a college essay I want it to be written in a descriiptive (narrative) way. So maybe you can start with Ït was Sunday morning at 7am and I can hear my moms in kitchen making breakfast for the family before we start getting ready to go to church… then kind of like explain everything I said above in a narrative way as if I just in my room and pondering about how I got here and maybe you can end the story with my sister walking into my room and interrupting me thoughts and I would just start. Or another way you could write it could be from my POV while I am sitting at church or something and waiting for my turn to go up front and start teaching. Like “I saw all the students walk into the room I am sitting in my usual seat and waiting for my turn to go up the stage. But then I started pondering how I got here…” then you can talk about my perspectives. But PLEASE feel free to write it in any other story/narrative or specific events and traits and characterstics that you feel like will look better for college apps.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How soon can I get my paper done?

It depends with your deadline. If you need your paper completed in 3 hours, we will deliver it in that time. All you need to do is indicate your deadline in our custom order page here. Alternatively, if you are sending us your instructions via email, please be sure to indicate your deadline.

Will it be completely original? I don't want to be caught in a case of Academic Integrity Violation.

We are as paranoid as you are. Maybe even more! And we understand that the greatest sin you can commit in your academic journey is plagiarizing your academic work. To that end, we have made sure that we check and double-check our papers using high quality plagiarism detection tools such as SafeAssign and Turnitin before submitting the paper to you.

Who is my writer? Is he/she a native English Speaker?

All our writers are native English Speakers. That is not to say that ESL writers are not good, we just prefer hiring native writers because we want the very best people working on your paper. This might mean paying a little bit more for your paper as opposed to when you pay a foreign company whose writers are non-native English Speakers.

What if I need revisions? Will your charge additional for this?

Of course not! If you do happen to require a revision on your paper, our team will handle it for you free of charge. Matter of fact, we won’t rest till you are happy with your paper. So, ask for as many revisions as you need, it’s completely FREE!

Will you give me my money back if I don't like my paper?

We have very few instances where we delivered a paper that a client didn’t fall in love with. But if it so happens that you don’t like your paper for any reason whatsoever, we’ll refund your money back no questions asked.

I have more assignments after this, can you help me with those too?

Of course! And what’s even better is that we can reserve a writer permanently to work on your entire class. This comes in handy for projects which build up on each other and where you need just one writer, one writing style.

I got my order information wrong, can I change that?

Yes you can. Just reach out to our support team via email (support@essaynook.com) or live chat here and they’ll help you change the instructions.

Can I place an order via email instead of going through the order page?

Yes you can. Email Anna at anna@essaynook.com, she’s in charge of our sales team. Alternatively, you can talk to our Live Chat team here and request to speak to Anna.
